About Me
Hello, I'm Liza-Mari, a passionate designer with some software development and statistical knowledge. I am currently working as a Junior UX/UI designer at RetroRabbit. RetroRabbit is a software development consultancy, we build software for Fintechs, Retail Companies, Mining Industry and more.
I have been working as a consultant for Capitec Bank, one of the largest banks in South Africa, as a UX designer. At Capitec Bank I have been exposed to working in a fast pace environment and working with a cross-functional team. I am responsible for designing and creating full working prototypes, conducting usability tests to validate new features or ideas, analysing new designs based on data-driven decisions and designing new features. During my undergrad studies I worked as a social media manger for a local company and I also completed a web design internship at a group holding company were I designed and improved the website of other brands and companies.

At Retro Rabbit I am exposed to different projects, clients and teams. I'm currently working for Capitec Bank as a contractor on their Digital Commerce team. The team works on various projects that focus on eCommerce, innovative payment methods, third parties such as Easy Equities and the ecosystems. I work on ideating new features, prototyping and testing these features before they go into production.

During my 5 month internship at RS consulting, I learned a lot regarding digital marketing and web design. I was responsible for creating the strategy of the campaigns and designing the content for the social media pages for various brands. I also had the opportunity to redesign the website of one of the brands (Varsity Bakery).

During my first year I was awarded an invite to the Golden Key Honorary Society.
In my final year, my team received an award for the Best Documentation in the Final year Projects as well as the Best Project with a BIT student.
I was also a member of the University of Pretoria Windband from 2018 until beginning of 2020.
